Help Me Grow Home Visiting is a voluntary, home-based program that focuses on a child’s earliest experiences in life. These experiences are the building blocks that shape how the brain is built and create a foundation for success in life. Home Visiting matches parents with a trained Home Visitor who visits each family wherever they live.
Home Visiting programs are required to affiliate with a National Home Visiting model. Hocking County selected Healthy Families America based upon the experiences shared by families across the nation and world including:
- No assumptions, no judgements; we’re all human
- Lots of encouragement
- Someone who cares and can support the entire family
- Someone who can listen to your needs
- Access to community supports & resources
To read more about these shared experiences, please visit the Healthy Families America site.
During visits, Home Visitors share information from the Growing Great Kids Curriculum which is full of topics to strengthen the parent-child relationship. Parents may also select topics that are most interesting or important to them which allows for a sort of “choose your own adventure” experience.
Our Home Visiting team is one of the best and provides incredible support to families throughout Hocking County. They encourage early prenatal and well-baby care, as well as parenting education to promote the comprehensive health and development of children. Home Visiting includes a monthly visit incentive program! Through active participation, a family may earn their choice of:
- 50 diapers
- Gas voucher
- Transit voucher
- Pizza
